Butterfly Minute is out now!

Biography

Jemily Rime is a jazz-pop singer songwriter, born in 1998 in Paris amongst a family of musicians.

She started playing the piano at three years old, which eventually led her to singing, bass guitar, and composing.
In 2016 she was a semi-finalist of the International Songwriting Competiton with the song Priceless. While she studied astrophysics and quantum mechanics reading for a Bachelor of Physics at King's College London, Jemily wrote the songs from her first album 'Otters Mate For life' (2018), reflecting her eclectic musical influences in songs mixing pop, rock, soul, funk and jazz.

She wrote, performed, and produced all the songs from her latest record, 'Butterfly Minute' (2022), a collection of short auditory 'paintings' depicting singular feelings, moments, or even illustrating a piece of art.

Since November 2020, Jemily has been pursuing a research PhD in Music at the University of York, in partnership with XR Stories and the BBC. She is looking at ways to make audio production more immersive and content more interactive using AI-driven tools.
